  1. Go to Salesforce setup
  2. Search for Remote Site Settings

A. To begin with, from the Google console, please ensure that the geocoding API key is enabled. Other reasons could be that the geocoding might not have successfully started or your data might not be plottable. To confirm if the geocoding process has started, check Map Plotter Settings -> Geocoding Status page to check the geocoding status. Moreover, all the mapped address fields should have data.

No, there is no such limit on the number of records that can be geocoded in a day. However, you can set a limit on the number of times in a day can Google maps can be loaded for your org. To do so;

  1. Go to API quotas → “Map Loads” section.

  3. The provided billing method is invalid (for example an expired credit card).
  4. A self-imposed daily limit has been exceeded.
  5. Check your installed version of MP in your org. If it is the old version, upgrade to the latest version of MP from AppExchange.

A. As record owner is a lookup field, it won’t work directly using the filter criteria. However, you can create a formula field and fetch the first name and last name of the record owner and then use the newly created formula field with your filter logic to be able to plot data based on a record owner.

A. Yes, you can access Map Plotter by downloading the Salesforce Mobile app from the iOS App Store or Google Play Store.

To be able to see Map Plotter on Salesforce Mobile App, we need to add the app under the Mobile Navigation category. To do so, please follow the below steps:

  1. Log into Salesforce from your desktop and click on “Setup” available on the top-right corner
  2. In the Quick-search box, enter “Salesforce Navigation”(the first option under “Mobile Administration”) and click on it
  3. From Available tabs section, select “Map Plotter” and “Map Plotter Settings” -> Add it to the Selected tabs section -> Save

  4. Go to your Salesforce Mobile app and you should be able to find the Map Plotter app
Additional suggestions:-
  1. Remove “Free” word from the name of the app, wherever found as we have only one version of the app right now and we do not need an indicator to suggest the difference.
  2. Under the “Google Billing” tab, the “APIs used by map Plotter” section displays 3 categories widely. However, in the background, we are using 4 APIs (2 for places). If we could somehow show a disclaimer that there are 4 APIs in total, it would be great.
  3. When we navigate to the “Google Billing” tab from FAQ and click on FAQ tab again, the page doesn’t redirect.
